For some people, today is the last “extra” day off until the holiday season hits. Others just wish they had a job to report to, even if it is a national holiday.
It was with that in mind Trump sent out the message below to all Americans…
Speaking from experience, our unemployment rates are not telling the true story about employment in this country.
When the economy crashed in 2008, I lost a career in a field I had spent almost three decades grooming… and I was not alone.
On the same day I was laid off, over a dozen managers in my field were laid off from other businesses, making it virtually impossible to find a position in my field with a respectable salary.
Instead of going into the cattle call, I started my own business, but most of the others I know in the industry did not have the ability or flexibility to do so.
Today, many of them are still out of work or working odd jobs to make ends meet.
Most of us never want back into the working pool, yet we all watched unemployment numbers improve in the year or so after we lost our positions.
Why did that happen? Because we fell off the books, therefore, we were no longer part of the system.
